Punctal Occlusion

The puncta is a small hole in the corner of the upper and lower eyelid that allows the tears to drain from the eye. In certain situations, it may be beneficial to put a small collagen or silicone plug at the opening of the puncta to slow the drainage of tears and promote more moisture on the surface of the eye.
